Good Governance and Anti-Corruption

The promotion of good governance and anti-corruption is at the cornerstone of the Institute’s efforts. Over the years, ILI-ACLE has designed and delivered high level practical training programmes in good governance and anti-corruption for local governments, civil society and accountability institutions to increase the capacity of and coordination between these key actors towards enhanced service delivery to communities. ILI-ACLE also draws the inextricable link between strengthened systems and mechanisms for anti-corruption, and good governance, ethics and anti-corruption are integrated as modules and discussions in training programmes such as procurement, oil and gas contracting, judicial administration, Professional ethics and litigation, among others. ILI-ACLE regularly hosts numerous institutions specifically charged with combating corruption and promoting ethics. Additionally, in acknowledging the practical challenges in addressing corruption and promoting good governance, ILI-ACLE also incorporates into training programmes sites visits and presentations from these institutions – including the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), the Office of the Inspector General of Government (IGG) and the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court – all in Uganda, as well as the Corrupt Practices Investigations Bureau in Singapore.

ILI-ACLE’s relevant experience in good governance and anti-corruption is set forth below:
